Cadiz

Cadiz is only 15 minutes drive away along a peninsula road that leads to the ruin walls of old Cadiz.  Completely surrounded by sea there is plenty to do and see.  It is one of the oldest cities in Europe dating back 3,000 years.  The Cathedral Nueva overlooks a square at the heart of the city.  There are also very good beaches on the peninsula.

Vejer de la Frontera

Sitting high on a hill top Vejer de la Fontera is a typical pueblo blanco.  Steep winding narrow streets lead to delicious tavernas and tapas bars.  The views are spectacular. Only 20 minutes drive from Finca Cigüeña.

Medina Sidonia

Another typical pueblo blanco is Medina Sidonia set high on a hill top with stunning views.  Evidence of Roman and Moorish occupation can be found.  At the heart of the town you will find the Plaza de Espana flanked by the town hall of Renaissance era.  Medina is famous for its cakes but there is an abundance of tapas bars, and restaurants.

Arcos de la Frontera

Moorish and Renaissance styles sit side by side at Arcos de la Frontera. The highest point leads to the Plaza Cabildo where you will find the church of Santa Maria and the old castle - Castillo de Arcos. The view down the valley is simply stunning.  There is a hotel at the top where you can sit in the bay window a look out for miles whilst enjoying a capuccino.
Seville

Seville is an hour and a half drive from Finca Cigüeña.  Seville is the regional capital with 2,000 years of history centred around a stunning Cathedral and the Giralda Tower.  From Flamenco Dancing, to Tapas bars there is so much to see.  There is a direct train service from the station at Bahia de Sur, which itself is only 10 minutes away from the villa.

Conil de la Frontera

Conil is a fishing village 15 minutes drive away.  Here there are plenty of small shops, tapas bars and tavernas.  Parking is easy and there is the endless sandy beach front of Los Bateles running between the town and the sea.

Jerez de la Frontera

Jerez offers some of the best shopping in the area and is home to Jerez Zoo. Jerez is best known for it's sherry, there are regular tours round the Bodegas, but it is also home to the Royal Andalucian School of Equestrian Arts.  The oldest part of the city goes back to Moorish times, and you can go to the 11th Century Muslim fortress - Alcazar.

Ubrique

Although Ubrique is a few hours drive away it does take you on some stunning scenery high in the hills of Sierra de Ubrique.  Here there is a strong Arab influence with narrow streets, medieval  layout and fountains interspersed with large houses.  Ubrique is best known for it's leather and here you will find a plentiful choice of shops and goods.
